OGA provided site selection and development services for DaVita Labs to consolidate numerous existing lab facilities into an integrated facility located on a 15-acre campus in Deland, FL. The facility consists of a shared lobby and a town hall dining/convention hall that links corporate office functions with an automated blood testing lab facility. A large warehouse area adjacent to the lab allows the client to package their own testing kits. The kits are used at the over 2,800 clinics that send samples to the facility every week. The lab area is designed to withstand a category 5 hurricane, and is believed to be the largest automated lab in the country.

The city owns the business park land in which the campus is located. DaVita ground leased the land from the city. The project had the unique challenge in that it was the first project to be built in the business park. The project team collaborated with the city to overcome many infrastructure, legal, and regulatory hurdles as a result of being the first project in the park.
